Cherie Li is an interdisciplinary artist with a home in Beijing and currently based in London. Cherie is interested in the material forms that relationships, connections, intimacy, and care between people with each other, with objects, and with places can take. Drawing from a background in art practice and material and visual culture anthropology, she uses image-making, installation, text, writing, and ethnographic research methods in her work.

In another strand of her practice, Cherie is an arts educator and facilitator in public engagement and participatory arts programmes in museums and beyond. She has delivered learning and participation projects at The Story Museum, and currently leads creative learning-through-play activity at the Young V&A.
